 Internal affairs bodies in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the scope of their assigned tasks:

1) implement a set of measures aimed at identifying, studying, and eliminating the causes and conditions that contribute to the commission of offenses;

2) implement a set of measures to protect public order;

3) exercise state control over road traffic and ensure its safety;

4) carry out state control over the turnover of civilian and service weapons and ammunition for them;

5) carry out state control in the field of security activities;

6) protect individuals and objects subject to state protection;

7) monitor the state of anti-terrorist security of facilities vulnerable to terrorism;

8) implement the state policy in the field of citizenship and migration of the population;

8-5) carry out, within their competence, state control in the field of population migration;

10) carry out licensing and licensing activities;

11) carry out proceedings on cases of administrative offenses;

12) carry out the disclosure and investigation of criminal offenses;

13) carry out operational investigative activities and secret investigative actions;

14) carry out research;

15) carry out a search;

16) implement the state policy in the sphere of trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, precursors and countering their illicit trafficking and abuse;

17) provide state protection to persons involved in criminal proceedings;

18) implement state policy in the field of penal enforcement activities, maintain persons in special institutions of internal affairs bodies;

19) provide public services;

20) carry out international cooperation;

21) exercise other powers provided for by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 23, 2014 No. 199-V SAM.

This Law regulates public relations in the sphere of activity of the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
